Kashira Domyoji 〈8-Cut〉 20kg is a domyoji-ko made by steaming and drying glutinous rice, then coarsely cracking the grains into large pieces. The 8-cut has large grains, and is characterized by the rice grain shape remaining clearly visible even after steaming and rehydration. You can feel the grainy bite and the umami derived from glutinous rice, allowing for a texture expression with real presence. While it absorbs water well and rehydrates plumply, it does not become excessively sticky, offering ease of handling during shaping. It is a domyoji-ko well suited to wagashi making that emphasizes both appearance and texture.
